Episode 59 - The Roadhouse Nominations for 2011
Feb 14th, 2012 by starjoes

It's that time of year again. The Roadies are back!! Chuck and Ryan wrap up the comics that came out in 2011. They respond to listener feedback. And then they cover their best of (and in some cases, worst of) 2011 Roadhouse Nominations. And in true Star Joes fashion, there were some technical difficulties with the microphone for the first hour of the show...don't worry, you'll notice when the microphone problem is corrected. Ha ha. So grab a cold one as the guys wrap up all the Star Joes goodness that was 2011.

Very fun episode
Thanks to, sorry can’t remember your name, but thanks for the reccomendation of Dust. I looked it up and it looks very cool. I love weird WWII comics and this one looks great. Hell yea Jogun Warrior well said about Beast Wars. It’s the same reason I got into it, they came out right when Joe ended.
Chuck I agree with you about Raphael stand alone as a buy. Terrific issue. I can’t wait to see Bebop and Rocksteady come into the series. Hopefully not as blundering fools, but as hardcore villains that give the turtles a run for their money.
Barbecue getting blown to hell was a sad moment in G.I. Joe. It wasn’t his first appearance in the series though. He was I believe in issue 3 where those little nano bot things are running around the pit. Like a bad ass he destroys the final bot with his axe.
p.s. I am unable to post in the forums for some reason

It was Jonathan who told us about Dust. I will definitely be checking it out.
I really enjoy Beast Wars, and will try to keep Chuck’s hate for it to a minimum.
I was the one who thought the Raphael issue was a buy. Chuck gave it a borrow and said he didn’t think it was necessary. I thought it was a great issue. I swear that people don’t hear me or always think that Chuck says the good things. LOL
If you are having problems with the forums, then I would email the Comic Geek Speak guys who manage the forums, and hopefully they can get you in. I believe their email address is comicgeekspeak@gmail.com. You can also email some of them directly. Their email addresses are on their website of www.comicgeekspeak.com
Let me know if you have any problems contacting them, and I’ll see what I can do.

By the way, if it wasn’t obvious, the “I” above is Ryan.

Awesome show…especially the part where you read my comments and questions. I flipped out in the car when I heard that, and was telling my kids that was me you guys were referencing…they didn’t seem to care. Anywho, I was also going to ask about the forums, I’d been trying to join but keep getting an error message I will try to e-mail those geek speak fellas for assistance! Thanks!
